Rising actor Rasha Thadani is drawing from the past to shape her present, embracing a fashion sensibility that blends 1990s nostalgia with a contemporary, effortless edge. Much of that influence, she admits, comes from growing up around her mother, Raveena Tandon, whose style remains iconic decades later. Speaking at the unveiling of ALDO’s latest collection, Rasha reflected on how deeply the era continues to inspire her.
“I am truly inspired by everything she has done and I still am. The looks she did in the ’90s, in fact, the looks that all of the actresses did in the ’90s, are still unbeatable,” she said, highlighting the enduring impact of that period in Bollywood fashion. For Rasha, the influence goes beyond just clothing.
She pointed out that elements like makeup and hairstyling from the time continue to shape her choices even today. “Whether it’s makeup or hair, I am constantly inspired. Most of my looks are inspired by the ’90s and it is something that, till this day, is unbeatable,” she added.
She also recalled some of her favourite looks from her mother’s filmography, singling out memorable songs that defined an era. “Sheher Ki Ladki, she had a lot of changes, and Akhiyon Se Goli Maare, those looks are just iconic,” Rasha said, referencing the timeless appeal of those performances. As a new entrant in the industry following her debut in Azaad, Rasha is gradually building her own identity.
By reinterpreting vintage influences through a modern lens, she reflects a growing trend among younger actors who are rediscovering and redefining classic Bollywood style. Also Read: Rasha Thadani supports injured monkey Angad’s rehabilitation through adoption
