Ridley Scott is angling to have a massive year in 2026 as he pivots back to sci-fi with the release of his newest film, The Dog Stars. The post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller features big names like Josh Brolin, Jacob Elordi, and Margaret Qualley, and it’s set in a world where a virus has wiped out most humanity, leaving only a few survivors. The Dog Stars was previously scheduled to be released earlier this year before being delayed to August 28, but it isn’t the only thing Scott is working on this year.
Scott was involved as a producer on the premiere season of Alien: Earth, the sci-fi spin-off series created by Noah Hawley (creator of Fargo) that arrived last year. It took some time, but Hulu finally renewed the show for a second season last November, over a month after it went off the air.
