Boston fired five other coaches amid a 10-17 start despite Saturday's 17-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles.Boone doesn't believe Cora will have any trouble finding a new job."I have a feeling he'll do whatever he wants," Boone said.
"He's a great manager, a smart, talented person that I'm sure will have a lot of opportunities available to him."Cora and Boone began managing the Red Sox and Yankees, respectively, in 2018. Boone has a higher winning percentage (.584), but Cora led Boston to a World Series title in his first season.Although Cora steered the Red Sox to a 2025 postseason berth with 89 wins, he won't receive the chance to remedy a rough April. The Red Sox already trail the Yankees by eight games in the American League East after getting swept with three combined runs scored in a three-game series."Alex Cora led this organization to one of the greatest seasons in Red Sox history in 2018, and for that, and the many years that followed, he will always have our deepest gratitude," Red Sox principal owner John Henry said in a statement.
“He has had a lasting impact on this team and on this city. He has led on and off the field in so many important ways.
