[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] Russell Brand is speaking out on the sexual abuse allegations against Katy Perry. The disgraced actor, who is currently facing multiple sexual assault charges himself, stopped by The Megyn Kelly Show on Wednesday where he tackled the topic of Ruby Rose’s shocking allegations against his ex-wife. While chatting about whether he still keeps in touch with the Woman’s World singer nearly 15 years after splitting up, he revealed he hasn’t spoken to since the day he asked for a divorce by sending her a note.
He did admit, however, that he stays in touch with her parents Keith and Mary because they’re “good Christian folks.” Unprompted, he then brought up Ruby’s SA allegations against Katy: “I must say, I feel a good deal of sympathy with the recent allegations around Katy from 2010.” What a way to try and shift the blame off his own charges… Wasn’t it earlier in this SAME interview that he literally admitted to have sex with a 16-year-old girl when he was 30? Related: X Factor UK Alum Charged With Attempted Murder Russell then distastefully joked that it’s the “old school man” in him that doesn’t “even hear the crime” in Ruby’s claims that Katy allegedly exposed her genitals and “rubbed” them on Ruby’s face during a drunken night out at an Australian nightclub: “What happened?
I can’t even hear where [the crime] is. Someone would have to poke me with a stick, ‘There!’ That’s the bit that’s a crime!’” Just not funny at ALL… Megyn responded: “No 20-year-old wants another woman rubbing her [v****a] on her face uninvited.” Watch (below): Elsewhere in the podcast, the Get Him to the Greek actor admitted he “pushed” Katy to marry him in 2010 because he felt “inadequate, and insecure” on his own. They later finalized their divorce in 2012.
In December, Russell was officially charged with rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault against two women stemming from incidents between 1999 and 2005.
