On Saturday, the New Orleans Saints played host to their fans with an NFL Draft Crawfish Cook-Off at the Ochsner Performance Center in Metairie. The event was filled with hundreds of Saints fans, all gathered to get back into the environment of celebrating and enjoying the community together. While the event was centered around the NFL Draft, it also featured a cookoff competition with several different crawfish boilers from around the areaThere were great activities for families and kids alike.

Fans could take selfies with props, kids had access to a bounce house, and there were on-the-spot player interviews hosted by the voice of the Superdome, Mark Romig.Of course, if you wanted to see how youthful you were feeling—or be reminded of how far removed you are from your youth—you could even run a timed 40-yard dash.Several players were also in attendance as Kelvin Banks Jr., Kool-Aid McKinstry, Brian Bresee, Jaylan Ford, Bub Means, and Jonas Sanker made appearances throughout the day.The Saints did not lose sight of the central reason for bringing everyone together, which was to take in the NFL Draft. A large projector screen sat just off to the left side of the performance stage, where guests were treated to the sounds of the Phunky Monkeys in between Saints’ selections. When the Saints were on the clock, the music would stop, the audio from the broadcast would rise, and everyone would tuned in to hear the announcement of the newest member of the team. After speaking with several fans in attendance, there was a clear consensus of support around the selections that had been made, the vision being communicated, and the commitment shown by the front office in building around young quarterback Tyler Shough. This was a great event and after the success of this one, it’s pretty clear the next one will be even more anticipated by the fans.If you weren’t able to make it out to the event, here are just a few images from the cookoff below.
