For the first time in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks made a selection at pick No. 32 overall. Despite reports the Seahawks were aiming to trade out of the first round, Seattle stayed put and addressed a glaring need. To close out the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, the Seahawks selected running back Jadarian Price from Notre Dame.Price now joins Curt Warner, Shaun Alexander, and Rashaad Penny as the only first round running backs ever drafted by the Seahawks.

Seattle had a pressing need at running back with the departure of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to the Chiefs, and with Zach Charbonnet healing from his ACL injury sustained in the playoffs. When the Seahawks' only move at running back in free agency was signing Emanuel Wilson to a one year deal, it became clear they were going to address the position in the draft. Many had Price mocked to the Seahawks, including yours truly.

It marks the first time in NFL history the top two running backs selected in the first round came from the same school.Price rushed for 1,692 yards and 15 touchdowns in his three years playing for the Irish, splitting carries with Love.
