Movies can change a lot from their inception to the final cut shown on screen. That is especially true for Pixar's wild new adventure Hoppers, which premiered back in March, but first began development back in 2020 under director Daniel Chong. The We Bare Bears creator delivered what has since become one of the highest-rated movies from the animation giant in recent memory, sending viewers on a bonkers trip into nature alongside Mabel (Piper Curda), a compassionate college student "hopped" into the body of a robot beaver.

The version viewers got very nearly started on a much different note, though. Disney has now confirmed when the sci-fi comedy hit is coming home and, to celebrate, Collider can exclusively share a new sneak peek at the original cold open with some commentary from Chong himself.
