This week featured a game-changing advantage introduced by Jimmy Fallon, which led to a fan-favorite contestant becoming the latest casualty of the season.

What happened on Survivor 50 Episode 9? Christian Hubicki was eliminated in the latest episode of Survivor 50. Hubicki entered the show with a strategy built around narrative warfare, quickly becoming the social and strategic center of the game.

He linked up with Rick Devens, worked a pregame connection with Emily Flippen, and reunited with Mike White and Angelina Keeley at the swap, though he eventually voted both out to secure his own future. Going into the merge, Hubicki seemed to have a low profile, but trouble caught up fast. He failed to keep his word to Jonathan Young and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, painting a target on his back.

He also began pushing to vote out Ozzy Lusth, unknowingly pitching the idea to Ozzy’s closest friend in the game, Cirie Fields, and becoming everyone’s target. Following the Immunity Challenge, Christian attempted to win the “Jimmy Fallon One in the Urn” advantage. The twist gave the winner the power to place an automatic vote against any player before Tribal Council began.

Hubicki, one of the most accomplished puzzle solvers in Survivor history, surprisingly failed the challenge. As a result, the automatic vote was cast against him instead. Eventually, he was forced to vote for himself and announce it to the entire tribe, effectively sealing his fate.

On his way out, he had pointed words for the late-night host, “This idea you had is terrible. No more ideas for you. I look forward to your apology.” Players still in the game are: Jonathan Young, Cirie Fields, Joseph Hunter, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, Aubry Bracco, Ozzy Lusth, Emily Flippen, Rick Devens, Rizo Velovic, and Tiffany Ervin.
