Taylor Sheridan’s career began just over 10 years ago when he wrote the script for Sicario, the legendary neo-Western thriller starring Josh Brolin and Emily Blunt. In the years following Sicario, Sheridan wrote and even directed a few more neo-Western features — like Hell or High Water (starring Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine), Wind River (starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen), and even Without Remorse (starring Michael B. Jordan).

It wasn’t until the launch of Yellowstone in 2018 that he began his TV empire, which is still going strong to this day with new releases like The Madison (starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer) and Marshals (starring Luke Grimes). Sheridan has made himself one of the most valuable screenwriters in Hollywood, so much so that he fetched a near $1 billion deal to leave Paramount for NBCUniversal.
