Returns from a massive recruiting weekend for Texas A&M’s spring game continue to come in, as head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies continue to make a big impression on some of the best 2028 prospects in the country. One of the headliners was Rivals No. 2 safety Casey Barner who gushed about his experience.“The environment in College Station for the spring game at Texas A&M Aggies football was electric,” Barner said. “You could really feel how much pride the fans and the whole community have in the program it wasn’t just loud, it was passionate and consistent the entire time. It gave a real sense of what game days are like there, and that definitely stood out.“What continues to excite me about the opportunity to play for Mike Elko and the Aggies is how genuine everything feels.
Coach Elko and his staff are very detail oriented and real with you they’re not just selling a vision, they’re showing exactly how you fit into it. You can tell they’re building something strong and disciplined, especially on the defensive side.“Spending time with the coaches was big for me. They made it clear they care about development on and off the field, and they took time to really break things down and connect.
The way they communicate and coach stands out it’s intense but also very supportive.“Being around the players was another highlight. They welcomed me in, kept it real about their experiences, and you can tell there’s a strong brotherhood in that locker room. Everyone is bought in, competing, and pushing each other, which says a lot about the culture they’re building.“Overall, it was a great experience and definitely gave me a lot to think about moving forward.
“In-state 2028 offensive linemen Jasper Ngokwere and Sean Sherman have Texas A&M heavy on the mind.“The environment in College Station is very nice,” Ngokwere said. “I loved seeing the energy being shown at the game between the players and the crowd. Everybody seemed like they were enjoying themselves and it was great to see Coach (Adam) Cushing coach the o-line.
It excites me that I am able to have opportunity to play for such great coaches that I know can develop me into a great player and take my skills now and make it even better.”“The environment of Texas A&M is really consistent and family oriented,” Sherman said. “I am blessed to have the chance to play under the coaching of Mike Elko and Coach Cushing. I feel like they really care about my development.”Texas A&M is off and running for Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints 2029 offensive tackle Carson Campbell.“The environment was very cool!” Campbell said.
“It’s cool the sheer amount of people that were there! Texas A&M is definitely a program with a lot of history, and they have a great amount of excitement right now with them making the playoff last year and the roster they’ve assembled this year.”
