Watching every Stephen King TV adaptation sounds like fun until you’re three episodes into Under the Dome and questioning your life choices. Over the years, King’s work has been adapted for the small screen so many times that it’s practically its own genre. There are miniseries, streaming originals, network TV, and everything in between.

Some of them are brilliant, some are just watchable. A handful of King adaptations are disasters that you finish out of spite. But I’ve noticed that they all share one thing: at least one casting decision that makes you wince.
