Some horror movies scare you. Some gross you out. And then there are the rare ones that just absolutely ruin your day in the most effective way possible.
The Mist belongs firmly in that last category. Frank Darabont’s 2007 adaptation of Stephen King’s novella is already a great creature feature on its own, but let’s be real, the reason it’s still talked about like a whispered urban legend is that ending. Even people who haven’t seen it usually know it has one of the most brutal final punches in horror history.
