ECONOMYNEXT – US President Donald Trump praised the secret service and law enforcement after a shooter got through and attempted a shooting at the White House Correspondents dinner Saturday night, and made the case for his proposed new ballroom. “It was a very beautiful thing to see; a man charged a security check point armed with multiple weapons,” Trump who was unharmed, told a press conference shortly after the incident. “And he was taken down by some very brave members of secret service, who acted very quickly.
“We had some great work done by law enforcement.” One officer was shot and the shooter was apprehended. “Everything was beautifully done.” The dinner will be rescheduled in 30 days he said, taking the opportunity to make the case for the proposed new White House ballroom. “We looked at all of the conditions that took place tonight, and I will say, you know, it’s not a particularly secure building, and I didn’t want to say this.
“But this is why we have to have all of the attributes of what we’re planning at the White House. It’s actually a larger room, and it’s a much more secure. It’s drone proof.
