Shortly after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell formally announced the pick, ESPN’s Adam Schefter explained how the addition of Reese impacts a potential trade centered on Defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux.“Despite drafting Arvell Reese, the Giants do not intend to trade DE Kayvon Thibodeaux,” Schefter reported on X/Twitter.Once upon a time, Thibodeaux was a legitimate trade candidate for the Giants.
After a standout 2023-24 season with the New York (50 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles), the Oregon product began to lose his pass-rushing touch in a Giants uniform.Thibodeaux’s heavy reliance on his patented bull-rush technique has proven ineffective lately, prompting questions about his future with the Giants. Thibodeaux has recorded only 53 tackles, eight sacks, and one forced fumble over the last two seasons. As a result, the 25-year-old has been linked to several organizations on the trade market during this first stage of the offseason.
