President Donald Trump and Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris announced the news during a press conference at the Oval Office in May 2025.It will mark the first draft held in the nation’s capital since 1941. Over one million fans are projected to be in attendance, which would smash the recently set record. The New York Jets are currently slated to have three first-round draft picks in the 2027 draft, after trades with the Indianapolis Colts for star cornerback Sauce Gardner and with the Dallas Cowboys for All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
